KCC Culinary Arts at Forefront of Grant Offers

Kapiolani Community College Culinary Arts Program was highlighted in Aloha Care magazine for its successful work with the USDA-funded Eat A Rainbow project.  Project Director Ronald Takahashi and Education Specialist Daniel Leung offered anecdotes of the program’s success and positive impact on improving the nutrition and dietary habits of children.

Kapiolani Community College Culinary Arts Department, as a member of the Children’s Healthy Living Program for Remote Underserved Minority Populations in the Pacific Region (CHIL) project, will be featured in a forthcoming press release scheduled for April 20th, 2011.  The CHIL partners will be awarded a total of $24.8 million in federal grant funds from the United States Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Agriculture and Food Research Initiative, Childhood Obesity Prevention Challenge Area.
